Epic Games reveals Fortnite Chapter 2, new 3D audio option: 

Not long after last week’s leak, developer Epic Games officially announced Fortnite Chapter 2, which acts as a major update to Fortnite: Battle Royale complete with its own set of seasons. As leaked earlier, the game now takes place on a redesigned island with “13 new locations”, traversable waterways with playable boats, and new emotes. 


Epic also finally added the game’s much-awaited 3D Audio feature, which will allow players to better locate their opponents without relying on on-screen information.

EA offers anti-racism FIFA 20 kits in solidarity with English national players: 

Following the spate of racism that Bulgarian football fans directed towards the English team’s coloured players at a recent match, EA has introduced free “No room for racism” English Premier League kits to all FIFA 20 players in solidarity with the victims.

Remedy removes Control update that forced online play and removed Steam Controller support: 

Control developer Remedy Entertainment has pulled the game’s latest update after PC users reported that they could no longer play the game without logging into the Epic Games Store launcher and could no longer use their Steam Controllers in-game. The developer tweeted that it did not intend to restrict players in any way and that it was simply testing functionality to “validate future paid expansions”.

Blizzard issues 6-month ban to college Hearthstone players for pro-Hong Kong, anti-Blizzard protest: 

Blizzard has brought down the banhammer once again (via Kotaku), this time on an American University Hearthstone team who display a sign reading “FREE HONG KONG, BOYCOTT BLIZZ[ARD]” during a recent match.

In a surprising turn of events, politicians from both the Democrat and Republican parties have written to Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick to sound their concern at Blizzard Entertainment’s recent suspension of Chung “blitzchung” Ng Wai for his pro-Hong Kong protest.

Analogue sets its eyes on the Game Boy with its new Analogue Pocket handheld: 

The retro gaming experts at Analogue have unveiled the Analogue Pocket, which is its “tribute to portable gaming” and will allow players to play real cartridges for the Game Boy, NeoGeo Pocket Colour, Game Gear, and more. Furthermore, the Pocket also has a built-in audio workstation to let musicians create their own, authentic, chiptunes as well as second FPGA port to allow for homebrew development. The system is slated for a 2020 release with a US$199 price tag.
