Check out Microsoft’s new Halo Infinite-inspired Xbox hardware

by Abir Chowdhury

While we’ll have a complete rundown of Gamescom 2021’s biggest announcements in this week’s Doublejump Digest, I thought that I’d give special props to Xbox’s design team for creating this gorgeous limited edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X bundle.

I mean, just look at this bundle. I love the combination of the mystical stellar night and technological Forerunner design aesthetics that are then tied together with gold accent lines (on the console) and gold Xbox button (on the controller). In fact, I would love to have seen more gold on the controller; specifically on the d-pad.

Speaking of which, while I’m not generally a big fan of anything green, the copper d-pad on the Halo Infinite-themed Elite Controller really ties the package together. To celebrate Halo‘s twentieth anniversary, it would’ve been awesome if Microsoft had coloured the Y button white to pay homage to the original Xbox “duke” controller’s black and white buttons.

The Xbox Series X Halo Infinite Limited Edition and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Halo Infinite Limited Edition are available for pre-order now for AU$849 and AU$249.95 respectively.
