Rumour: Borderlands 2 getting a GOTY edition?

Since its release in September 2012, Gearbox Software has released a whole hell of a lot of DLC for Borderlands 2, and now it looks like those who have yet to play the incredibly popular game (or who haven’t purchase its abundance of DLC) are in for a real treat.

Earlier today, IGN received a photo of a marketing booklet for a Game of the Year edition of the game from an unnamed GameStop employee. As if to corroborate the evidence, the source sent a different photo of the same booklet to Game Informer just a few hours later.

As with other games’ GOTY editions, this package will allegedly include all of the DLC released for the game to date: the Psycho and Mechromancer packs, the Creature Slaughter Dome, Captain Scarlet and her Pirate’s Booty, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, Mister Torgue’s Campaign of Courage, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, and the first Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade.

Elsewhere on the Internet, a Digital Trends exclusive has revealed that Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge, as well as the game’s second level cap increase, will be released on September 3. There was no word from the GameStop source on whether it would be a part of the Game of the Year edition.

As of this writing, there has been no word on a possible price or release date for the Game of the Year edition, but we will be sure to update as soon as we find out!
