Konami has reported its financial earnings for the three months ending June 30, noting that the company’s profits have been driven up in part by the strong performance of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, particularly on PlayStation 4.

The Japanese publisher announced in the report that the latest iteration in Kojima Productions’ long-running stealth action franchise sold three times as many copies on PlayStation 4 as it did on Xbox One in this fiscal period, with 12 percent of the total copies of the game sold being on Sony’s newest platform.

Sales of the game, as well as a boost in the company’s pachinko business, have helped push Konami’s quarterly revenue up 6.6 percent, to ¥48.61 billion (US$473 million), with net income increasing by an impressive 45.6 percent to ¥1.36 billion (US$13.2 million).

Whilst fans eagerly await Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami did not release any additional information about the release of the game except to describe it as a “leading product” for the company.
