DICE has taken to the official Battlefield blog to reveal that Battlefield 4’s second multiplayer expansion, Second Assault will be released next week for Premium members, and two weeks later for all other players, on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360.
The expansion, which contains “four fan-favourite maps from Battlefield 3 – Operation Metro, Caspian Border, Gulf of Oman and Operation Firestorm – reimagined with Frostbite 3 graphics and Battlefield 4 gameplay”, was released as a timed exclusive for Xbox One on launch day. Premium members on other platforms, as listed above, will be able to access the content next Tuesday, February 18, while non-Premium players will have to wait an extra fortnight until Tuesday, March 4.
Within the same blog post, the developer also revealed the maps that will make up the game’s third expansion pack. Due to release in late March for Premium members, Naval Strike will bring with it “new weapons, gadgets and amphibious vehicles”, as well as four all-new maps: Lost Island, Nansha Strike, Operation Mortar and Wave Breaker.
An exact release date for Naval Strike was not revealed today, with DICE imploring players to “stay tuned” for that information. Of course, we will update you when it comes out as well.
