The idea of Doublejump was conceived in early 2012 by three good friends who waste countless, countless hours in front of various screens and monitors playing video games for various reasons. The three also tended to eat a shitload of TGI Friday’s and share a mutual interest in journalism, design and being in positions of authority; all it took to get the idea of a gaming website into the guys’ heads was for Jake to mention that he and Luke were once a part of such a site, which never really took off, and that he would love to start one up again in the future. Working under the initial name of “RSK” (an acronym of “Random Strange Kid”, a reference to Supergiant Games’ “Bastion”, which they all loved), the three amigos started their planning. Three months later, they were still planning. Six months later, another semester of uni had passed, and they were still planning… But they did get a logo created for them by the legendary Mart Biemans. Nine months later, they were almost finishing another semester of uni, and they were still fucking planning. Finally, now, eleven months after the idea was first born… You’re looking at the product of all that arduous, boring, annoying, crazy, planning: Doublejump. Ah, the joys of being a group of extreme perfectionists (also known as psychopaths).
The whole vision of Doublejump is provide gamers like yourselves (unless you’re friends of ours who are just checking it out to show your support, in that case… <3) with a place to get your gaming news and reviews and just to talk shit about games or in general. We will be posting news, reviews, rumours, jokes, information, editorials and any other content we can think of, eventually expanding our presence into podcasting, YouTube and all the other bells and whistles. We hope to bring in contributors from all over the globe (if you think you’re get what it takes, check out the “Staff” page) so that we can bring you the news as it happens rather than waiting until we wake our slack asses up and get cracking.
<cliche>This story hasn’t got an ending just yet, that’s something that we’re all going to write together… </cliché>.
